Scott Cohen, MD, FAAP
SCOTT W. COHEN, MD, FAAP, is a board certified pediatrician who has created a new philosophy in pediatrics. With the motto, “the best doctors are teachers,” Dr. Scott, as his patients refer to him, has developed a program called COMMON SENSE PARENTING where he educates patients and families on how to raise healthy children-stress free. This approach is highlighted in his book, Eat, Sleep, Poop: A Common Sense Guide to Your Baby’s First Year.
Dr. Cohen is originally from Maryland and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Cornell University. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Cohen completed his pediatric residency at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles in June 2003, where he was the recipient of the Victor E. Stork Award for Continued Excellence and Future Promise in the Care of Children and the Associates and Affiliates award for scientific knowledge, clinical judgment, and excellence in human relations. He was also awarded the Community Service Award for helping develop Helping Hands for Children, a curriculum which teaches pediatricians to effectively advocate for the needs of children.
Dr. Cohen is the co-founder of Beverly Hills Pediatrics and an attending physician and active member of the teaching staff at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He was the recipient of the 2005 and 2008 Cedars Sinai Medical Center Physician RecognitionAward in Pediatrics and was named the 2006 Cedars Sinai Pediatrician of the Year. Dr. Cohen was also selected at one of the Best Doctors in America 2007-2012.
Dr. Cohen is a featured expert on www.parentsask.com where he answers common parenting questions via a video blog. He is also the pediatric expert on www.videojug.com, a website that showcases answers to many common pediatric questions in video format.
Dr. Cohen lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two girls, Aubrey Grace and Lexi James.
Bess Raker, MD, FAAP
Bess is a board certified pediatrician who is committed to educating parents about the healthy care of her young patients. She is particularly interested in newborns and first-time parents.
Dr. Raker enjoys the deeply personal relationships she has with all of her families and is honored to be such an integral part of their lives.
Dr. Raker is involved in numerous community activities – she especially enjoys serving on the Board for Beads of Courage, a unique program designed to honor the challenging journey that children with cancer and their parents must embark upon beginning with the diagnosis.
Dr. Raker is also involved with LA Diaper Drive, serving those in her community who are less fortunate. Dr. Raker completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where she treated patients with a wide spectrum of medical conditions.
She received her medical degree from University of Arizona. Dr. Raker graduated as a Dean's Distinguished Graduate from University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Dr. Raker is thrilled to open Beverly Hills Pediatrics with Dr. Scott Cohen in Beverly Hills, California.
Inessa Grinberg, MD, FAAP
Dr. Inessa Grinberg enjoys working with children of all ages. She especially loves sharing the woes of parenting and providing guidance as kids move through different stages of their lives.
Dr. Grinberg is originally from the former Soviet Union. She moved to Los Angeles in her early teenage years and completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She then embarked on a combined MD/PhD program at the University of Chicago, receiving Honors in her medical studies and a PhD in Human Genetics. Her graduate work was honored with an award for most meritorious research in the general field of Pediatrics and resulted in numerous peer review publications. Dr. Grinberg then went on to complete her residency training in Pediatrics at UCLA, where she was the recipient of Alice Litman Moss Resident Award for outstanding, compassionate and sensitive performance in both clinical and research fields.
Dr. Grinberg’s favorite pastime is spending time with her husband and two sons, Elliot and Grayden.
